Michelle Carr
CPA, Audit Manager, Hein & Associates
Michelle has six years of professional experience and provides audit-related services for both public and closely-held entities. Michelle has worked with clients on various areas of financial reporting for inventory including FIFO, weighted-average costing and application of overhead. Her experience also includes revenue recognition issues for clients with multiple delivery elements. Michelle has assisted clients with matters of impairments, work-in-process, and analysis of goodwill related to merger and acquisition transactions.
Prior to joining HEIN & ASSOCIATES LLP in 1999, Michelle was part of the accounting staff for a publicly held software development company. Michelle graduated in 1998 from Gonzaga University with her Masters of Business administration.
Michael Fatica
Mike is the founder and former director of ENTECH, "Empowering Non Profits in Technology," providing non profits with technology support under the Helen Bader Institute for Non Profit Management at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He is also the Principal for Fatica Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in web development, Linux, networking, databases and custom multiplatform solutions. Mike joined the KidsTek Board in May 2006 and says that the non profit sector is a key part of his professional and personal life. In his spare, Mike is an avid mountain biker, runner and hiker.
Bruce R. Huebner
President, Lone Tree Advisors, LLC
Bruce R. Huebner has over twenty years of sales, marketing and business development experience in the personal, client server and Internet computing eras. Seventeen of those years have been in management and leadership capacities. Huebner currently heads his own consulting and investment company, Lone Tree Advisors, LLC.
Prior to starting his own company, Huebner was President and Chief Executive Officer of Teamshare, Inc, a Colorado Springs based collaborative software company. Huebner became CEO after joining Teamshares Board of Directors in August of 2000. Prior to Teamshare, Huebner worked for Microsoft Corporation for thirteen years in a variety of capacities. He headed Microsofts Network Solutions Group based in Denver. There, he was responsible for partnering with telecommunications & Internet solutions companies and played a key role in developing partnerships and outlining Microsofts ASP & .NET strategies. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of Microsoft's Rocky Mt. Region for eight years, responsible for sales, marketing, consulting & engineering services for that Region. He grew Microsoft's business from 8 to 120 people during that time and was responsible for significant revenue growth. His Microsoft career started by opening the New England sales office in Boston in 1987. Prior to that, he spent 5 years in the fledgling PC computer industry in sales and management positions in the Boston area.
Huebner and his wife Jane have lived in the Littleton area for the last 12 years and have 3 children. He past non-profit volunteer work in Denver included a 2 year Board role with the Community College of Denver's Computer Training for People with Disabilites (CTPD) program.
Kristin L. Lentz
Partner, Davis Graham and Stubbs, LLP
Kristin Lentz specializes in acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities offerings for public and private companies. In the acquisition area, Ms. Lentz has acted as counsel to sellers and buyers in merger, acquisition and reorganization transactions, and to acquirers in negotiating the financing terms of acquisitions. In the corporate finance field, she has served as company counsel in debt and equity offerings for domestic and foreign companies in a variety of industries and has acquired additional financing experience from serving as counsel to borrowers and lenders in term and revolving loan borrowings. Ms. Lentz represents private equity funds in investment and merger and acquisition transactions. Her practice also includes counseling clients on entity formation, securities disclosure and compliance issues and general corporate governance.
Ms. Lentz is actively involved in community affairs and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Colorado Business and Professional Women Education Foundation. In addition, Ms. Lentz provides pro bono legal work for other non-profit organizations. She is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Mergers and Acquisitions and Securities Subsections of the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Women's Bar Association. While completing her law degree, Ms. Lentz was a member of the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review. Prior to joining Davis Graham & Stubbs, Ms. Lentz served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gregory J. Hobbs, Jr. of the Colorado Supreme Court.
Pat Maley
Pat has over twenty-five years' sales and general management experience in multiple segments of the computer industry. Most recently Pat was CEO of Dante Software completing venture funding and a successful acquisition of Dante by webMethods Inc. in 2003. He started his career with Intel Corporation (semiconductors); was a key sales and marketing executive on the team that built Sequent Computer Systems (open systems); was a consultant with Geoffrey Moore's Chasm Group; CEO of Client Systems Hewlett-Packard's exclusive channel partner for the HP e3000; and, CEO/Co-Founder of Collaboratek an Internet Community infrastructure software and services provider. Pat has a BS from the US Naval Academy and a MPA from the University of Colorado. He has been active in the Colorado Software and Internet Association since 1997 and was Chairman from 1999-2001. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Technology Community Foundation.
Nancy Sauer
President, GDXdata
Nancy Sauer was named President of GDXdata, Inc. in 2005. She brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development and general management as well as significant expertise in data and information management, product administration, and partnership development. Nancy guides GDXdata with her creativity and innovation, as well as her focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining GDXdata, Nancy was Vice President of Business Development for Thought Equity, a Denver-based startup which re-purposes motions assets and provides asset management solutions. In her position, she was responsible for direct sales, business development and opening new markets.
Preceding Thought Equity, Nancy was General Manager for Information Handling Service's (IHS) Financial Products Group. She evolved the group from a database-focused company to a solutions provider by launching new products, and building partnerships with leading organizations like the World Bank and the American Banking Association.
In her 8 years at Standard and Poor's Compustat, Nancy took on increasing responsibilities including management for the data content, channels, distribution, and high value clients. Additionally, she was instrumental in creating and bringing to market the first S&P cross-division internet product.
Nancy has been recognized in the business community for her ability to consistently develop successful products, sales channels and alliances. She received her MBA from the College of William and Mary, and a BS in Engineering from Virginia Tech. Nancy actively serves Virginia Tech chairing the Advisory Board for the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, and as a member of the Residential Leadership Program and the College of Engineering Advisory Board.
David M. Stern
A native of Colorado, David M. Stern attended Union College in Schenectady, NY and received his BA in Economics from the University of Colorado in 1969. He worked at the University from 1969 to 1977 at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, LASP, where he developed software for NASA's interplanetary probes notably Mariner Mars 7 and 9, and directed the laboratory's computer operations.
In 1977 he founded Research Systems in Boulder, to develop a scientific programming language for data analysis and scientific visualization called IDL. During the early years of Research Systems, Stern worked in the field of medical imaging and developed and marketed the first software for emission tomography. IDL is a leader in its field and plays an important role in the data reduction, processing and analysis activities for a number of major projects including the Hubble Space Telescope and the European Space Agency's Giotto mission to Halley's comet. IDL is also an important component of a number of commercially successful products in the fields of remote sensing, medical imaging and automotive engineering. By the year 2000 Research Systems had grown to a consistently profitable 140-person company with subsidiaries in the UK, France and Italy. The company was sold that year to the Eastman Kodak Co.
He was named the Esprit Entrepreneur of the Year by the Boulder County Chamber of Commerce in 1997, and received an honorary doctorate (ScD) from the University in 2000.
He is now the president of Algolytics, Inc, a software consulting company he founded in 2002, and serves on the University of Colorado Graduate School Advisory Council.
Byron R. Craig
Director, Marketing Operations, Xcel Energy
Byron is a Colorado Native and received a B.S. Electrical Engineer from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in 1979. He has more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry. His activities cut across the spectrum of the industry, with significant accomplishments in engineering, technical training, project management, asset management, general management, customer service issues, business development, and regulatory proceedings.
Xcel Energy is an investor-owned electric and gas utility providing service to over three million customers in eight states. Byron joined Xcel Energy in 1999, and his present responsibilities include direction of the Customer Advocate organization as well as direction of operational support to energy conservation and demand-side-management programs. While previously managing Xcel Energy’s Electric System Performance group (concerned with reliability and management of existing electric distribution system assets), Byron successfully led efforts to gain the approval of the Colorado Public Utilities Commission of a new Quality of Service Plan related to electric reliability, with measures and financial incentives that better identify and address reliability trends of the entire system, as well as cases of individual customers with frequent outages.
Prior to joining Xcel Energy in 1999, he was a senior project manager in the Electrical & Telecommunications Division at Black & Veatch, a global design/build engineering and construction firm. In this role, he was responsible for financial, technical, and staff management of projects encompassing high-voltage power facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, utility information technology applications, and electric system planning. In addition, he provided on-site technical training and specialized support to clients domestically and in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Before joining Black & Veatch in 1987, Byron had engineering positions with a small consulting firm, a rural-electric cooperative, and another investor-owned utility Company.
Cassandra Clayton
Merger/Acquisition Project Manager, Quintess
Cassandra Clayton has 14 years of experience in marketing, sales management and fundraising. She is currently managing the transition process for two simultaneous mergers at Quintess luxury residence club, integrating standards, facilitating asset transfers and contracts, and ensuring employee and client satisfaction. Other positions held at Quintess have included VP of Direct Marketing, Director of Membership Development, and Regional Sales Director for the Southern and Eastern regions.
Prior to joining Quintess Ms. Clayton was VP of Sales and Marketing for Colorado Ballet, Colorado’s oldest and most successful classical ballet company. In this position she managed the marketing, development, telesales and ticketing departments, collectively responsible for 100% of the organization’s $6.2 million revenue budget. Before her position at Colorado Ballet, Ms. Clayton wrote grants for multiple non-profit organizations on a contract basis and was the grant writer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado for five years.
Joseph J. Colosimo
Joe Colosimo is owner of his own consultancy. His focus is on assisting senior human resources executives and operating executives lead their organizations in the areas of strategy and performance. His background combines industry and consulting assignments. His executive experience was with noteworthy companies including; Ford, Loral, Westinghouse and Aquila Energy. More recently, his consulting experience serves many Fortune 300 companies, and small profit and nonprofit organizations. His expertise assisting executives in transition, talent management and organization issues are varied and significant with organizations managing growth, sale or other transitions. His portrayal of improving competitiveness through the metaphoric experiences found in the sport of rowing is inspiring, unique and powerful. Joe has been a Senior Vice President, Human Resources, is the Founder of his own consulting company, and an Extended Faculty Professor at the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business’ Management Department. He has spoken frequently at universities and executive meetings and is regularly noted in articles and books. Joe brings significant practical insights to organizations in transition or in growth. He has served on various Boards in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and currently serves on the Boards of Rocky Mountain Human Resources Planning Society, the Rocky Mountain Rowing Club, and on the Leadership Committee of the Association for Corporate Growth. Joe has Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business from LaSalle University.
