Manual High School
This past fall, Manual High School (Denver Public School System) opened its doors to the first class of 9th grade students since it was closed in the spring of 2006. This new class of students will not only be the first to graduate from the new Manual, but they will have the unique opportunity to lead the school and shape its future. Students found an environment that supports their learning and development and one that is centered on high expectations and opportunities for all. Denver Public Schools (DPS) believes that Manual High School will emerge as a premier high school in Denver and has made a commitment, along with the community, to support Manual students with future college and career success.
Manual will grow into a 9-12 high school starting with a freshman class in the 2007-2008 school year, adding a class of students every year thereafter. In the 2010-2011 school year, Manual will be a fully developed 9th-12th grade high school.
KidsTek is proud to be part of this exciting new educational partnership. In the fall of this school year, KidsTek provided an elective computer applications course at the school. Students in this class participated in an exciting service-learning project with a neighborhood elementary school. KidsTek is currently working with a group of Manual students to produce a âdigital yearbookâ by the end of the school year.
