Education Advisory Board

Dr. Timothy Donahue, Chair

AAAS Fellow - National Science Foundation

Dr. Donahue grew up in inner city Denver, attending the types of schools that KidsTek works with. His underpriviledged upbringing did not, however, stiffle his professional development.  Timothy Donahue received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Management minor) with a focus on biotechnology from MIT, where he also earned a masters in Industrial Practice. For his bachelors degree (ChemE/Bimedical minor) he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Donahue has worked in the chemical industry, heavy manufacturing, and Internet-oriented business. For the last 14 years, he has been a public-school teacher in the Denver area. Timothy serves on the CollegeBoard's Curriculum Development and Assessment Committee for AP Environmental Science.  He was on the National Faculty at Lesley University, where he taught masters-level courses on technology in education.

For four years, Dr. Donahue worked as an engineer in Japan. He speaks Japanese, Spanish, and English, and has traveled extensively. Timothy sings in internationally-competitive barbershop choruses. He has long believed in continual improvement of himself and in mentoring others.  It is in this spirit that he approaches his fellowships in ENG/EFRI. Dr. Donahue is an invaluable member of our Education Advisory Board.
