KidsTek Field Trip to Advanced Micro Devices
A special thanks to the Boys and Girls of Larimer County and Advanced Micro Devices of Fort Collins for providing a wonderful field trip to KidsTek participants on June 13. Students from the Fort Collins and Loveland clubs went to AMD's microprocessor design center where they learned how computer chips are designed and etched from silicon wafers, how motherboards are designed and manufactured and even saw a test model of the exciting new XO-1 laptop (of the One Laptop Per Child initiative.) |
